Pekutherm Kunststoffe GmbH has been granted an EcoVadis sustainability certificate on the silver level for the second time. According to the test results, acrylic and polycarbonate recycling specialist pekutherm is among the top 25% of service providers in the recycling industry being active and acting responsibly above average in respect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS).
Sustainability means to consciously harmonize social and ecological goals with economic action. EcoVadis is an international CSR assessment platform located in Paris. Based on scientific methods, EcoVadis judges a company’s sustainability in the areas of environment, labor practices, fair business practices, and sustainable procurement.
In November 2016, Pekutherm faced EcoVadis’ extensive examination criteria a second time. Says Managing Director Heiko Pfister: “Sustainability has always been pekutherm’s business aim, as plastic recycling reduces the impact on the environment and preserves natural resources. And also our many labor protection measures contributed to a positive result. With the introduction of formal business policies this year, we could clearly surpass our last year’s result especially in the areas of fair business practices and sustainable procurement.”
