As a company that has been committed to the resource-conserving recycling of valuable materials for decades, pekutherm has once again taken a decisive step towards its goal of becoming a fully climate-neutral company: After producing our PC recyclate in a climate-neutral manner since last year, this also applies to our PMMA recyclate.
For many years, we have made the processes in our company environmentally friendly by means of a variety of measures – from green electricity and photovoltaics to reusable packaging and company carpools – and keep the CO2 emissions during the production of our recyclates as low as possible. By supporting a certified climate protection project in India in 2021, we were able to offset the remaining amount of unavoidable CO2 emissions during the production of our PC recycled material and received the “climate neutral” label.
Since 2022, both our polycarbonate and PMMA recyclates have been climate neutral. Once again, with ClimatePartner, we have recorded the amount of unavoidable CO2 emissions during the manufacture and transport of our products and offset this product carbon footprint by supporting other international projects to reduce CO2 elsewhere. As a result, both our PC recyclates and our PMMA recyclates are now climate-neutral.
